Will of John Barbee (1683 - 1750) of Essex County, Virginia:

John made his will February 19, 1750. John's will was proved in Essex Co. Court, VA The will reads:

"I give my loving wife Ann all my estate real and personal or of what nature soever my just debts first being paid for and during her natural life to be disposed of amongst my children shall think convenient at her death or before if she my said wife thinks fit to do so ____________. It is my will that my estate shall not be appraised nor my executor shall not be obliged to give any security. Lastly I do appoint my said wife to be my whole and sole Executrix of this my last will and testament. signed John X Barbee his X Mark. Witnesses: Sam'l Hipkins James Colquett John Andrews Jun'r.
